Rocksanne

Surfing brought me to the Atlantic coast from an early age, and years of experience in coastal science have shaped how I now see coasts. With Rocksanne I try to share that with a broader audience. I write about the coastal geology of the Costa Vicentina in southwest Portugal and guide small groups along its cliffs and beaches, showing how the landscape came to be and how the different landforms relate to each other. Rocksanne also gives me a place to experiment, combining field observations with new technologies: to make maps, to develop web apps and to make coastal monitoring systems – I’m curious to find out where this all will lead.
